After I heard so many sad news from my country, I feel very fortunate..
In my country, most of the kids in the village area do not have any money or materials for them to go to school. They can't even afford to buy a school uniform. They can only get one which they have to wear everyday when the rich ppl donate them. I feel so fortunate, man... Not only I can study like others, I may say that I am very fortunate to be studying in a foreign country!
In one article, it says, a 16 year old boy from my country, his family is poor and the family household could not afford to pay the electricity bills so the electricity is cut off. And that year, that boy is going to take a national exam which will determine the future of his life like PSLE or GCE "O" LEVEL. No electricity, so it means that he can only study in daytime.. but in daytime, he has to go to school... so he has very less time to study. And in my country, the evening sunset is early. It is already dark at around 5.30pm.. So it means he can't study at night. But he only has his night time to study. Guess what he did?
He studied everday outside below the street lamp posts! I really admire his perserverance and determination. Most of the people in his place will become disappointed and easily give up. Guess what? After he took the NATIONAL EXAM, the results come out. He was placed 3rd in the whole nation! It was a very big feat for him and a very valuable reward for his hard works...
I am wondering.. If people like him can even do well in exams and study without giving up and achieve such great achievement, people like us, especially those who are fortunate to be able to study in a good environment with good education system, why can't we do it? Why can't we do better than ppl like him? I need to think about it.. I need to reflect man.. I have to work harder.. That's all i have to say today...
*You told me you miss me
You remembered my birthday
Do you know how much i am touched
Just because of those simple words? :) *
